Patient-Centric Clinical Trials: The Power Of Choice
By Richard Young

Only about 3% of U.S. physicians and patients engage in clinical trials, but this could improve with digital solutions that enhance patient engagement and lower dropout rates. Patient-centric trials, advocated by the FDA, focus on offering choices to improve engagement, diversity, and data quality. Strategies include remote participation, BYOD approaches, and simplifying study processes to expand patient choice. Patient-centric trials must prioritize security, compliance, and data management while considering the impact on both sites and patients. An adaptable, end-to-end system is essential to accommodate various trial needs, whether conducted remotely, in person, or through a hybrid model. For sites, streamlining management by minimizing disparate systems can alleviate excessive workloads, reduce error risks, and enhance efficiency. Implementing a unified, free-to-site platform can consolidate data management.
